OSI honors former member by hall dedication Published July 2, 2013 By Senior Airman Elizabeth Van Patten 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- A former member of the Office of Special Investigations was honored by senior leadership of the 94th Airlift Wing and OSI on June 27 at Hanger 5 here. A hallway within the building, now known as Fleshman Hall, serves as a home to OSI and was dedicated in honor of Jeff Fleshman, former counter-terrorism OSI agent. "Jeff was always out amongst the people," said Neil Bethune, 94th Airlift Wing antiterrorism officer. "He is well-known in law enforcement circles as well as in the Dobbins community. He had a solid counter-terrorism program. I model my own programs after his." During his more than 10 years as an OSI agent on Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Fleshman was instrumental in securing Hanger 5 as an operational center for OSI as well as building the infrastructure for investigative capabilities provided to Dobbins ARB and other areas of responsibility, according to Bethune. Despite health problems post-retirement Fleshman's sense of humor and wit showed during the dedication offering key-note speaker, Richard Berkowitz, a pair of reading glasses. "This event was important to OSI because Special Agent Jeff Fleshman is a person you only come across once in a lifetime," said Berkowitz.. "Within our inner circle, Jeff is referred to as 'The Oracle' because he is regularly sought out for advice and his advice is always the ticket to success. Jeff was and is one of my greatest mentors. I owe most of my civilian and military successes to the advice Jeff gave me over the last 20 years."
