Brig. Gen. Richard Kemble, 94th Airlift Wing commander, held his first commander’s call last weekend after taking command of the wing earlier this year.

During the call he introduced the new command chief, Chief Master Sgt. Vicki Robertson, who came to the wing from the 302nd AW, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Robertson expressed that everyone in the 94th is a family, and made it clear that families demand cohesiveness and trust. She also noted that each family member has a unique attribute they bring to the wing.

“We all have different abilities,” she said. “What is important is how we respond, and use those abilities to change your workplace.”

Currently, the priorities of the commander and command chief lie in fostering an environment of respect and dignity, and in arming the Airmen with the ability and fortitude to complete the mission and defeat the enemy.

“I need a warrior in each of you,” said the commander. “I need your A-game each and every day, and I need you to come in with passion and with a warrior ethos!”

The base commander also brought in representatives from various wing staff agencies to raise awareness of the many resources and services that are available to Airmen on base, as well as their families.

Kemble iterated his appreciation to the Airmen’s dedication to the military and to their service.

“Nothing is stronger than the heart of a volunteer,” he said. “I thank you all for volunteering to be here every drill weekend.”
