DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- A group of about 80 men and women from the Army, Georgia National Guard, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve volunteered to help unfurl the flag during the Atlanta Braves game at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia on July 4, 2017.

After a few practices at unfurling the flag before the ceremony, the volunteers took a tour of the new ballpark. Later, they enjoyed a buffet while players from the Atlanta Braves warmed up.

At 8 p.m. the volunteers unfurled the flag in the outfield of the park while audience members recited the Pledge of Allegiance. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem.

Members of the Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution Elijah Clark Militia also lined up to perform a 13 gun salute during the opening ceremony.

The Braves' July 4th celebration concluded with a fireworks show at the end of the game. The announcer at the ballpark stated the fireworks show is the largest in the southeastern region of the United States.
