Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Charles Dryden was the grand marshal of WSB-TV's 2007 "Salute to America" Parade during the 60th Anniversary of the Air Force celebration. Colonel Dryden, one of the last Tuskegee Airman World War II fighter pilots in the Atlanta area, passed away on Tuesday, June 29. He retired from the Air Force in 1962 after 21 years of service. Colonel Dryden frequently spoke at Dobbins and throughout the country on the experiences and contributions of the Tuskegee Airmen during their military service. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt.
