First hand account
Army Col. William Hamilton recently returned from Iraq, where he served alongside officers of the Iraqi army as an advisor to the Iraqi general who is in charge of security operations in Baghdad. Colonel Hamilton spoke at Dobbins Air Reserve Base to a group of local and base leaders as part of the Pentagon sponsored "Share the Story" program meant to inform the public on progress in the rebuilding effort. "It's not a case of going over there, blowing some people up and then leaving," Colonel Hamilton said. "The situation is a lot more complex than that." He gave specific examples and first-hand accounts of Iraqis risking their lives to begin rebuilding their country. Success will depend on them, he said.
