Water Survival Training

Col. Timothy Tarchick, 94th Airlift Wing commander, inflates the personal life preserver used in the aircrew water survival class as Aircrew Flight Equipment Training NCOIC, Master Sgt. Mike Varnado monitors his progress, 4 Feb. Aircrew members are required to receive this training once every three years to stay proficient with the equipment and techniques used in a water survival situation. The Aircrew Flight Equipment Continuation instructors conduct this training twice a year and have partnered with Cobb County to use the Cobb Aquatic Center in Marietta, Ga., for each winter session to ensure a safe training environment.
