Safe jogging path realized

Thera Conner uncovers the memorial plague located along Conner’s Way trail which dedicates the trail in honor of her late husband, Charles “Doug” Conner, Jun 5, 2008. Doug Conner worked many years in the Dobbins Safety office with a vision to create a safe walking path between lodging and the Base Exchange area but was unsuccessful in seeing his vision through. Ron Durant, to Mrs. Conner’s left, took over that vision and with persistence, saw it through to completion. The newest jogging path connects the Conner’s Way trail with the Navy path originating at the south side gymnasium. Soon anyone with base access can run or stroll safely and uninterrupted, from the Dobbins lodging facility all the way to the former Navy gym located on the southwest side of the runway.
