The new Dobbins ATC tower is three-times larger than its predecessor standing 100 feet tall and covering 7,000 square feet of land. The new tower started operations August 1. Construction began in July 2010 due to the need for improved visibility, a more efficient HVAC system, and additional floor space. A ceremony to commemorate the opening is scheduled to take place August 9.
