Colonel ANTHONY J. FRANKS

Colonel Anthony Franks is the Vice Commander of the 94th Airlift Wing, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia. The wing is equipped with eight C-130H3 cargo aircraft that support joint service and multinational airlift missions both in the United States and around the world. The wing is comprised of over 2,500 personnel, and includes a
headquarters element, three groups and 13 squadrons.

Colonel Franks received his U.S. Air Force commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy in June 1999 and graduated Undergraduate Pilot
Training in December 2000. After serving more than 8 years on active duty, he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve in 2008. A command pilot with more than 4,000 military flying hours in 6 different aircraft, he has flown combat missions in nearly every major worldwide contingency during the past 19 years. He has served in a variety of positions and assignments throughout his military career, working in Air Combat Command (2 deployments), Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Mobility Command (2 deployments), Air Education and Training Command, and Joint Special Operations Command (3 deployments).

Colonel Franks is also a United Airlines First Officer rated in the Boeing 757 and 767.
