94th Operations Group

The operations group commander is responsible to the wing commander for most flight related functions throughout the wing - aerial delivery operations ; aeromedical evacuation; operations support and flying squadron activities; deployable airlift control flight; airfield management, base weather, and air traffic control. Within the operations group at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, the C-130H aircraft and more than 700 highly skilled reservists are assigned.

The mission roles involve buildup and breakdown of palletized cargo; certification of equipment and supplies for air shipment; cargo and passenger manifesting and load planning; airfield operation; routine and tactical combat airland and airdrop of personnel and equipment; aeromedical evacuation, triage, and treatment of casualties; and forward deployed austere operational command and control of airlift support forces.

All of these units are capable of deployment anywhere in the world at a moment's notice in the event of heightened tension, outbreak of hostilities or to support humanitarian missions as dictated by the Nation Command Authority. Recent examples have been the Haiti invasion preparations; deployment to Ramstein AB, Germany, for Bosnian airlift support; Somolian aeromedical evacuation; air logistic support from Incirlik, Turkey; and preparations of hurricane relief supplies. In addition, the 94th AW routinely rotates aircraft/crews to Howard AFB, Panama, for Latin and South American logistic support. On nearly a daily basis, unit personnel fly airlift missions throughout the United States.
