Citizen Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing flew two HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters during a Navy SEAL demonstration in Fort Pierce, Florida, Nov. 4.

Navy SEALs fast roped from the 920th RQW aircraft during the rescue demonstration for approximately 2,000 spectators attending of the Navy SEAL Museum’s 32nd Annual Muster and Music Festival.

“We do this every year around Veterans Day to commemorate the sacrifices of our service members and SEAL teams,” said Rick Keiser, Navy SEAL Museum executive director. “This year, the Air Force Reserve joined us, which was great because spectators got to witness joint operations.”

The three-day event, commemorating veterans, included a 5-kilometer run, live military demonstrations and a memorial service. Additionally, the event featured live musical performances, food vendors and stationary aircraft on display.

“We are proud to support the Navy SEAL Museum at their 32nd Annual Muster,” said Lt. Col. John Tatton, 301st Rescue Squadron helicopter instructor pilot. “It was a great way to demonstrate our units’ capabilities and represent the 920th Rescue Wing.”

Patrons of this year's event echoed Tatton's enthusiasm as they visited the HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopter display after the demonstration.

“It’s a great event, and we love to see the show,” said Vero, Florida, native, Derek Lillliquist, a second time festival attendee. “We (Lilliquist and his wife) loved watching the helicopters, the working dogs and the comradery of it all.”

The 920th RQW is the nation’s only Air Force Reserve rescue unit. Its mission is to rescue and recover personnel, anytime, anywhere with combat-ready Citizen Airmen.
