12/3/2011 - DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services will be hosting a new hire written examinations starting Jan. 10 - 13, 2012.

The department will be hiring for the firefighter I positions with an annual starting salary of $38,355.20 and many benefits, including health and dental coverage, retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, deferred compensation and holiday and sick leave.

The exam will be open to anyone 18 or older by the test date and has a valid driver's license. Photo IDs will be checked on the day of the test. You must complete an online application in order to be considered for testing. Once applications are received and reviewed, you will be emailed further test information which will include an assigned date and time for testing.

Successful candidates must pass the written exam, an in-depth background check, physical abilities test, polygraph and psychological exams, medical exam, drug screen and oral interview.

There will be representatives from Fire and Emergency Services, the Department of Public Safety and Human Resources at the test to explain the hiring process, and to answer questions you have about the position. For more information on the fire department, visit www.cobbfire.org.
