DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- The 94th Airlift Wing administered Dobbins' first round of COVID-19 vaccines here Friday.

Personnel administering the vaccine are using the U.S. Department of Defense phased approach, which ensures first responders, mission-essential personnel, and deploying forces are among the first to receive the vaccine.

The base leadership team also set the example by rolling up their sleeves as part of the initial vaccine group. All personnel are encouraged to get vaccinated as availability continues to increase.

“It’s an important safeguard that will help protect our teammates and our community, while sustaining our ability to execute the mission,” said Col. Craig McPike, 94th AW commander.
