This week’s Up Close features Capt. Enrika Ross, 94th Aeromedical Staging Squadron nursing OIC. Up Close is a series spotlighting individuals around Dobbins Air Reserve Base.

WHY DID YOU JOIN?

I joined because I really wanted to serve the country in a different way.

WHAT DO YOU DO ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE?

I’m a civilian nurse practitioner at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

FAVORITE AIR FORCE EXPERIENCE?

I like to talk to patients and boost morale.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?

I enjoy doing a lot for my church. I’m currently working on a corporate health fair. I’m trying to get surrounding churches to come and serve the community spiritually, physically and emotionally.

 PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL GOALS?

I’m working on a post certification as a mental health nurse practitioner. I would like to work with veterans with difficulty getting assistance. I can help them become more mentally fit.
