This week’s Up Close features Tech. Sgt. Robert Elliott, NCOIC Recruiting, 433rd Training Squadron, JBSA Lackland. Up Close is a series spotlighting individuals around Dobbins Air Reserve Base.

Why are you at Dobbins Air Reserve Base today?

I visit to Reserve units to promote Reserve Military Training Instructor opportunities. I’m here today to do just that.

What do you like about serving as a Military Training Instructor?

It’s very rewarding to develop tomorrow’s Airmen. We’re always training our replacement.

What are your hobbies?

I love to fly; I’m currently working on my private pilot’s license. I also love fishing.

Do you ever cross paths with your former trainees when you visit different bases?

I travel a lot in my current position. I ran into a prior trainee at a unit I visited. She was highly respectful and still acted a little nervous around me. I think she thought I might start yelling at her!
