This week’s Up Close features Staff Sgt. Juan K. Lee, a 94th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief . Up Close is a series spotlighting individuals around Dobbins Air Reserve Base.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
Washington, D.C.
WHY DID YOU JOIN?
Initially school wasn’t giving me enough of a challenge, so I joined to see what it was like. I always admired the camaraderie.
WHAT DO YOU DO ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE?
I’m getting my bachelor’s in aeronautics right now, but I’m pursuing a master’s in business administration. I’m an electrical engineer at Lockheed Martin where I wire the F-22 Raptor canopy.
FAVORITE AIR FORCE EXPERIENCE?
Basic Military Training. I enjoyed it and met a lot of great people. It was awesome watching them push themselves to their limit and test their abilities.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I love working on my vehicles. I have a Ducati and an Impala I enjoy working on. Then just being a father to my 4-year-old son.
PERSONAL/PROFESSIONAL GOALS?
Personal: Continue to grow as a father and husband.
Professional: Finish my MBA.
Military: I would like to commission through something like the deserving airman program. I would love to continue leading in that capacity on the flight line and in maintenance, but I would do it anywhere.
