COLONEL MARTY A. HUGHES

Colonel Marty Hughes is the commander of the 94th Mission Support Group. He is responsible for the leadership and management of agile combat support squadrons, flights and staff agencies for a wing that consists of 8 C-130H3 aircraft and more than 2,100 traditional Air Force Reservists, Air Reserve Technicians, Active Guard Reservists, federal civil service employees and host base contractors.

The 94th Mission Support Group consists of the Civil Engineer/Host Base Civil Engineer, Aerial Port (2), Communications, Logistics Readiness, Security Forces and Force Support Squadrons as well as Emergency Management, Contracting and Bio-Environmental Engineering Flights. The 94th MSG also provides direct support to area partners that include the Navy, Marines and National Guard.

Colonel Hughes was commissioned through the Air Force ROTC Program in 1989. He served as a missile launch officer for four years before leaving active duty and moving to the Air Force Reserve. In 1993, Colonel Hughes joined the ranks of the Air Force Civil Engineers. He has held leadership and command positions at the squadron, wing, major command, and Headquarters Air Force levels. Before coming to the 94th Airlift Wing, he served as the commander of the 302nd Mission Support Group.
